The Regional Debt Indaba (Organized by
Zimbabwe Coalition on Debt & Development)
Socio and Economic Justice Advocacy
SWET strengthens its collaboration with ZIMCODD in fighting socioeconomic injustices that prevail in Zimbabwean communities. In this regard, SWET participated in a two-day regional Public Debt Indaba hosted by ZIMCODD with countries such as Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique and the United Kingdom represented.
The organization was represented by its Executive Director and a Programs Personnel.

The organization has already started to incorporate the learnings in its current programming and community outreach with women and girls in Chitungwiza. The platform also provided room for network and collaboration with other youth organizations who are also working towards issues of women and girls empowerment and social service delivery issues.

The Indaba adopted a hybrid approach where both physical and virtual participation methodologies were employed. The platform provided SWET with an opportunity to grow its networks with regional like-minded organizations as well as to learn best practices on addressing socio-economic injustices.
Furthermore, SWET was also selected to participate in the ZIMCODD 2021-2022 Masters Class to widen the organization’s capacity to fight socio-economic injustices and debt issues in particular.
