Tracking the progress of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1)

Sprout Women Empowerment Trust (SWET) partnered with Zimbabwe Coalition on Debt and Development (ZIMCODD) and its other partners in tracking the progress of the flagship NDS1. This was done through an organisation-specific survey and production of a report that was incorporated into the broader Civil Society Organisations Monitoring (CSOM) Report.

SWET particularly focused on tracking the Infrastructure and Utilities Pillar with specificity to water, transport and electricity. This pillar really shows that there is still a long way to go towards the achievement of the blueprint ‘set targets. SWET therefore participated in the stakeholder workshop on evaluation of the NDS1 as well as the Researches Launch and Dissemination Workshop that finally launched the first shadow report before the government, CSOs and citizens.
